Mike "Myke" Nevin, 58, died Wednesday, March 1st, 2023 at his St. Clair Shores home of a sudden heart attack.
Beloved father of Amber Nevin (Fiance Tyler Leggat) and Michael Nevin.
Mike was born in Detroit, MI to loving mother Barbara Nevin and late father Victor Nevin.
Mike, a recently retired Battalion Chief, was a 38-year veteran of the Detroit Fire Department.
Mike's joys in life included spending time with his kids, coaching for the Michigan Ice Hawks, celebrating holidays with deep fried turkeys and family, and smoking tiny cigars.
He will be forever loved and missed!

Visitation will be on Friday, March 10,from 3 pm-8 pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe. A funeral will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, March 11 with a 10 am gathering and 11 am service. Burial to follow funeral services at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Mike was a force to be reckoned with & it didn't take long w/him to figure that out. He had a charisma that drew people in. A persuasive manor that turned people's minds around. Not one to shy away from a confrontation, a negotiator with the tenacity of a Pit Bull! And a heart as big as Texas. What showed most is the compassion which he held for the people around him. The level of care was sincere. I may not get to hug or shake his hand again, but I'll keep a bit of his spirit wherever I go. I need a little pit bull in my life every now & again.
