Catherine Eleanor Plotzke, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023 surrounded by her family. Born in Detroit on June 2, 1928 to Frank and Margaret (nee; Krause) Plotzke. Over the years church was a very important part of Catherine's life. She was an active member and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Philomena Catholic Church. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, VFW Post 7170, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2495 and the Amadaeus Circle #0616. Catherine retired from Samaritan Hospital. Catherine enjoyed playing word puzzles and she was a favorite of the bingo callers at her senior apartments, where she lived.

Catherine leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Geraldine Plotzke, nieces; Michelle Engelhard, Doreen Baxmann, Elizabeth Sherer (Michael), Kathleen Bologna (Dominic), Suzanne Barker (Patrick), Beverly Eckerman (Paul) and her Nephews Robert Plotzke and Michael Plotzke.

She is reunited with the ones who have gone before her: parents Frank and Margaret Plotzke and brothers Richard (Beverly) Plotzke and Robert (Doris) Plotzke.

Visitation will be 4:00pm - 8:00pm Friday, March 3, 2023 at Chas. Verheyden, Inc.- Duross Chapel, 28499 Schoenherr Road, Warren, 48088. Catherine will lie Instate from 10:30am until time of her Funeral Mass, 11:00am at St. Jude Catholic Church, 15889 E. Seven Mile, Detroit, 48205. Share memories with the family here at Verheyden.org
