It’s hard to lose someone who has been a large part of your life as Alice was to me as well as her immediate family. Alice and George were very close to my wife Sandy and I. Sandy and I lived above them in the same house when Sandy and I were first married. We shared many trips, events, outings, happiness and sorrow together as couples.

Even though Sandy and I spent much of our lives away from Michigan, we always were in touch with Alice. That makes it even harder that we can’t all be together to say good-bye. Even though I can’t be there for Alice’s service, I just want you to know how sorry I am that she is no longer with us and that I feel for all of you who were close to her also.
I wish I could be there but I will need to be satisfied to honor her in my own way. This spring I will plant a palm tree in my yard in her remembrance. Alice was a good friend and I loved her, too.
