Angie Orzel (nee: Merlo), age 80, died on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Ascension St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan. She was born on February 24, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Anthony and the late Ann (nee: Gardella) Merlo.

Angie grew up in Detroit and went to Servite High School. Up until she had her children, Angie worked as a cashier at various places. Angie was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. Once the kids were school age, Angie became a school lunch mom. Angie also took amazing care of her loving husband for over 15 years. In her spare time, she liked to play poker and bingo.

Angie is the loving wife of the late John. Beloved mother of Loriann Gomoll, Angela Orzel, and the late Larry Gomoll. Dear grandmother of Karry, Chelsea, Mindy, Adam, Danyell, and Holly. Cherished great-grandmother of 11 and one on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Maryann Donovan and many nieces and nephews.

Angie will lie instate on Wednesday, February 15 from 10:30 am until the time of her funeral Mass at 11 am at St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic Church, 1401 Whittier Road, Grosse Pointe Park.
