Betty A. Taylor Rose, 61, gained her wings on January 25, 2023 at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Mi from Uterine Cancer. Betty was born on March 12, 1961 to Thomas and Patricia (Lieder)Taylor in East Detroit, Mi. From a young age Betty loved music. Betty continued to fill her life with music and loved to sing and dance. Singing to her children and then with them in their youth. Filling their homes with musicals and the great artists she loved. Betty loved participating in Karaoke, open-mic nights and just standing up and dancing when her heart was overflowing with musical joy. When music was playing there was always a smile of joy on her face.

Betty was a warm and loving daughter, sister, mother and partner. She was a free spirit with an extremely giving heart. Meeting Betty meant meeting a new friend. Enjoying a chat over a cup of coffee or helping to organize a life event, she was there. She had a very giving heart, always there with a helping hand for anyone who needed it. Betty would smile with her beautiful crystal blue eyes and ask what she could do. She found joy in giving to others. Whether she was donating food for Thanksgiving Dinners or creating baskets to raise money for a cause she was always the first to sign up and the first to ask if you needed more. The world was a better place because Betty was in it.

Betty grew up in East Detroit with her parents and four siblings. She played french horn in her high school and was a proud member of the marching band. Graduating from East Detroit High School in 1979. After highschool she became a caregiver and started a family in Hamtramck, Mi where she often volunteered with the schools her children attended and the local library as well as many other activities within the community. In 1992 Betty moved with her family to Orlando, Florida to help care for her father and be there to support her mother. She continued her volunteer work in Florida organizing a kids and seniors club in her community and working with the local Moose Lodge. She followed her heart and later moved to Tennessee and then Wisconsin. After the passing of her husband she moved back to home to Michigan in 2019 where she became a very active member with the Oddfellows and was sworn in as a Rebekah. She continued her volunteer efforts there working with the Christmas Toy Drive as well as many of the other volunteer programs within the organization. She was able to spend her last years doing what she loved and surrounded by people that loved her.

Betty is survived by her partner in life Gary Baxter, as well as her former husband Kenneth Ptak and their children Lynnzee (John) Aldridge, Dallas, Ga. Raymond Ptak, Orlando, Fl. and Eric (Liz) Ptak, Orlando,Fl. Grandchildren: Adeline, Annabelle and Asher Aldridge; Eva and Joshua Ptak; Siblings: Thomas Taylor, Barbara Blake, Shirley Taylor-Back and Susan Why as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
