Martha Jane was born October 16, 1940 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Henry and Sarah Clowney. She was the second of five children. The family migrated to Detroit, Michigan in 1943. Martha united in marriage to Truett Coleman in 1960 and to that union they had two children. She spent most of her life being active in her community as a precinct delegate and as a caregiver to many family members and friends. She was a dedicated and committed member of Rose Of Sharon Church Of God In Christ serving on the Mother's Board and as a team leader on the holiday committees and their many activities. Martha was at her happiest when she was baking cakes, fishing, spending quality time with her family, and helping others. She had courage in the midst of all of her health challenges. Her strength and zest for life will forever inspire her loved ones. She touched many people in her lifetime and lived a life well lived.

Martha made her transition on September 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William Clowney and John Clowney. Left behind to cherish her memory include her two sons, Truett L. Coleman and Terence O. Coleman; her brothers, James Clowney and Nolan Clowney; her four grandchildren, Chantell Rahmaan (Leray), Maureen Boyd, Terence Coleman II, and Christopher Coleman; her four great-grandchildren, LeRico Rahmaan, Zoey Boyd, Caylee Rahmaan, and Morgan Frederick; her dear friends, Karen Hayes, Dana Lattner, and Ruth Brantley and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation for Martha will take place Friday, September 23, 2022 from 3-7 pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Park, MI 48230. Saturday, September 24, 2022, 10:30 am Family Hour, 11:00 am Funeral Service, at Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ, 1799 E State Fair Ave, Detroit, MI 48203.
