Carl visited us while we were living in Reno, Nevada. We had a great time catching up and checking out the town until he headed back to the slot machines! Carl loved those casinos, and turned out he won $500 big ones that night! We were to have this kind fellow as our friend for so many years. We'll not forget the good times Carl. Rest in peace dear friend, and keep playing those slot machines!

Carl was about 6 years old when this was taken. He said he ran back home on his first day of school. I bet he got into trouble with the nuns over that.

“Uncle Carl” was one of our favorite people. He was very close friends with my mom and aunts and was adopted as part of our family. He is part of so many of my memories growing up. It is the truth that all kids love Uncle Carl and my brother and I were no exceptions. He would laugh and talk to us like we were the most important people in the world and as a kid, that is a big deal.
He once took me and my aunt to see the Nutcracker ballet and to dinner at the Summit at the top of the Renaissance Center. Every time the restaurant revolved and we saw the sight of the Ambassador Bridge as we were eating dinner, he would say, “Did you know that was the Ambassador Bridge?” And we would laugh! He was great at being silly and had countless little jokes we would repeat.
I will miss visiting his condo- one of the best places ever!! The oriental rugs, antiques and cozy atmosphere always with “caffee”, dessert and his great stories!! I am very grateful that my kids were able to meet him and get excited to go to Uncle Carl’s like I always did. We will all miss him!

Carl was a good friend of mine for many years. Older people, young people, kids, babies and animals loved Carl. Squirrels came up to him and ate out of his hands. We use to kid him that he was like St. Francis. My grandkids loved his stories. He had a lot of good ones . He was also a good listener. We had a lot of good times and good laughs together. We surely will miss him.
