Gary Brasseur on Mar 30, 2020

Gerry was a longtime friend whom I first met in 1977 when we were newly appointed workers' compensation administrative law judges in Detroit. We soon became much more than colleagues and quickly developed a close friendship that continued until his passing. It turned out there there were many parallels in our lives that enhanced our friendship that had started long before we met and continued thereafter. We were about the same age, both engineers, became lawyers about the same time, married the same year, honeymooned at the same place (Bermuda), our kids were about the same age and attended the same college (Michigan State). We were Eastsiders. We shared a great love of golf and played many, many rounds of golf together at Sunnybrook; plus, tons of golf trips "up north" and to North Carolina, South Carolina and Arizona. In later years when his physical skills diminished, Gerry vectored his considerable intellect to bridge. He became an accomplished player accumulating masterpoints by participating in tournaments as a member of The American Contract Bridge League. He also enjoyed playing bridge with others around the world on the Internet. It was my very great privilege to have known Gerry. Not many of us get to have an extraordinary friend like Gerry in our lifetime. I will miss him very much. May God bless you Gerry.

Dear Diane and family, please know that you are in my prayers. I remember walking to your house on Three Mile Drive Gerry was always so warm and kind. I wanted to pay my respects but had to do emergency babysitting. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Kathy L'Esperance

I’ll miss Gerry for a couple reasons. He was a fair and honest mediator when I was a young lawyer, and every time I mentioned my fraternity brothers Pat and Mike, his eyes would light up with pride. May his memory be a blessing to your whole family. Pat Horan

Gerry,
You have been a friend for sixty years -from the fraternity days at U of D, to the lunches with John and Mike, family parties, lunches and breakfasts with other fraternity brothers, Order of Malta and our pilgrimage to Lourdes, serving at the Clinics while you were our esteemed leader, being with you in many different hospital stays, and lastly the Board meetings in your home. You have been a loyal servant of Jesus Christ and lived the Beatitudes. Your dedication to the sick and the poor was unending. Truly a man for others. Thanks for being my friend. I will miss you.

Spark!
You have been a friend for 45 years.Family. A neighbor, a mentor, a coach, your laughter and humor brought us through many tumultuous times!
The “kids” are all better for having you guide them and coach them through Cannon baseball. No one threw signs like you did!
Thanks for the great times from Three Mile Drive and beyond. Will always remember “Dancing on the Table”.
May God Blesd you and keep you in his hand.
All our love!!
