Obituary

Maryanne E. Frederick, of Grosse Pointe Park, MI Age 87, passed away February 3, 2020 in her home with God’s grace and family surrounding her. She is survived by five of her beloved children, John J. Frederick, Jr. (Debbie), Michael F. Frederick (Judy), Cheryl Frederick Thomas (Joseph), Karen E. Frederick and Patricia Frederick Dawes (Danny) and predeceased by her son Robert A. Frederick; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerome Bresser and William Bresser and many nieces and nephews. She lived for adventure, family gatherings and life events. Maryanne was selfless, a mother and mentor to countless other children, a genuine friend who brought great joy to those who knew her. She was a philanthropist for many organizations, a teacher, a savvy business woman at Bresser’s Cross Index Directory Company, which she co-owned; a board member at the Detroit Yacht Club where she captained her boat, the “Blue Velvet”; an advocate for handicapped persons as the president of Crawford Armstrong Association for 20 years; a faithful 30 year parishioner at St. Ambrose; and had a passion for helping those in need. Her life will be celebrated at Chas. Verheyden Inc., 16300 Mack, Grosse Pointe Park, with visitation Friday, February 7 from 3-8pm, with a scripture service at 7pm. Funeral on Saturday, February 8; Instate 10 am until the time of Mass 11am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church 15020 Hampton, Grosse Pointe Park. Although Mom/Nana/Aunt/Sister/Friend loved her flowers, she had a passion for Capuchin Soup Kitchen and a new and reverent understating of the beauty of Hospice care. In her honor, donations in lieu of flowers would touch her heart in heaven:

I was sadden to hear about the passing of Maryanne. Over the years we have kept in touch as she was our neighbor growing up in Jackson. I still remember breaking her glasses playing basketball over in the Queens parking lot when we were kids. I know she is in a better place with our Lord. Until we meet again, Rest in Peace. Kip, She enjoyed receiving your Christmas card and updates every year. She'd set it aside so we could all read it. Such wonderful memories of S. Wisner street.
