Jon Allan Tokarski, age 83, of Warren died on Tuesday July 16, 2019 at Ascension St. John Macomb Oakland Hospital in Warren. He was born on March 13, 1936 in Detroit the son of the late Leo M. and the late Eleanore D. (nee: Burghardt) Tokarski.

Jon grew up with his wife, Judith. The couple lived in the same neighborhood and got engaged when Judy was only 15. The couple was married on August 25th, 1956.

Jon worked as an electrician for Chrysler for over 30 years. When he was not working, Jon enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake St. Clair. He liked to catch anything out there, but most importantly he liked to catch fish that fought back and walleye.

At home, Jon liked to play computer games. He was known as the neighborhood grandpa and the kids would call him “Big Jon”.

Jon was the king of Amazon. He loved to order everything and anything. Jon would try to sneak the packages in off the porch before Judy would get home so she wouldn't know.

Jon was the beloved husband of Judy. Loving father of Jon Jr. (Kim) Tokarski and Jill (Ron) Schnering. Dear grandfather of Emily (David), Becky, Brendan, Haley, and Maddie. Cherished great-grandfather of Annabelle. Jon is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Angeline) Tokarski and 3 sisters.

Visitation for Jon will be held on Thursday, July 18 from 4-8 pm at the Duross Chapel of Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 28499 Schoenherr Rd in Warren. Jon will lie instate on Friday, July 19th from 9 am until the time of his funeral service at 10 am.

Jon was the Greatest bosses I ever had. We would seat at a computer and play golf for hours. I never got in trouble for it. His Birthday was the same as mine. He was 11 years older. When friends talk about work I would think of him and tell my friends what a great boss he was.... I pray that he rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences to you Judy and your family. As Mitch Albom Wrote; “Lost love is still love. It takes a different form, that’s all.You can’t see their smile or bring them food or tousle their hair or move them around a dance floor. But when those sensors weaken, another heightened memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it, you hold it, you dance with it.“ Jon Was a great guy and will be sorely missed. May the Lord give you strength and peace at this time. May you also find comfort in your memories. God bless you and yours!
