Inge Arlington Vincent, born October 13, 1926, died November 15, 2019. Loving wife of the late George C. Vincent (Demeber 5, 2015). Dear mother of Nancy J. Murphy, stepmom of Chris (Jane) Vincent and Frances Vincent. Proud grandmother of John and Jessie DeGrandis, Angela and Evan Paulson, Joseph George DeGrandis. Beloved great grandmom to Clara and Harley. Mom leaves behind a loving family, all are loved for sure but especially cousin Gerda Gehl who came and stayed for weeks twice a year. Lovely Rolf Mulleger who helped when I was a child as I grew up.

Inga was born in Beuthen, Germany. She was educated in German Schools and was there when Augsburg was bombed.

Mom came to the USA in 1948 to go to Syracuse University. That is where she married William Arlington in 1950. They had fun camping and enjoying life. In early 1961 they moved to Grosse Pointe Park and I was born in May 1961. Shortly after Inge and Bill got divorced. Mom had a job at a Tool and Die place where she met a man named George Vincent. At that time, it was a temporary position. There was an advertisement in the paper needing a bilingual secretary for General Motors, Mom being fluent in German and English applied and was immediately hired. Mom coming home she worked as a legal secretary and also at the Grosse Pointe Public Library.

In 1978 Mom came in contact again with George and that is where the love story started. They married on June 30,1979 son mom could be a June bride.

During their happy 36 years of marriage they became worldwide travelers, from within 80 miles of the North Pole to the tip of South America.

Mom was a member of The Eastern Star Chapter 82, the Harmonie Club, and the English-Speaking Union. She was a Docent at the DIA and her and George did Meals on Wheels for 15 years. They both were very involved with the Detroit Opera House and there is a Lobby dedicated in their honor.

Along with the musical theme Mom was a great supporter of the Detroit Symphony. She was involved at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church and was instrumental in installing the organ there.

Inga will always be remembered as a giving, friendly person and a great mom, stepmom, grand-ma and Gi Gi. We miss you and hope that you are happy in Georges arms.
