Mike and Nora Wirick

My name is Nora, I am married to Nancy’s brother Mike, and one of Angela’s many, many aunts. Over the years Ed, Nancy and Angela would often come to Arizona to visit us and to take a break from the amazing Michigan winter weather. We have an arrangement that whenever they came to visit we would all take turns cooking. I will make dinner one night, then Mike, then Nancy, and of course when it was Ed’s turn to cook we wound all go to Fuddruckers.
Angela and I shared a love of everything and anything Disney. I remember on one of their visits the 3 of them took a trip to Disneyland where Angela not only met both Mickey and Minnie, but had her picture taken with both of them. I am still a bit green-eyed about that.
We also shared a love of chocolate. I recall on another visit she was particularly fond of M&M candies. Nancy kept a big bowl of them on the kitchen table, and none of us could resist grabbing a handful of when walking past. Knowing that Angela could be a bit on the stubborn side I believe that she no longer wanted to share what she obviously considered to be her M&M’s, so she proceeded to sneeze into the entire bowl. Not one of those polite, lady like squeaky sneezes, but a great big loud ACHOO sneeze that says “These are mine!” And it worked little lady, they were all hers after that.
We all know that Angela loved stickers, babies, and music. But do you know what her favorite song is? Ed might remember this story because once I had the radio playing in the house and “Panama Red” came on. She loved it and all we could hear was a great big belly laugh, who knew!
Angela was beautiful. She was beautiful for the sparkle in her eyes when you talked about something she loved. She was beautiful in her ability to make other people smile. She was beautiful in her contagious laughter. She was beautiful deep down to her soul.
There are no words for moments like this. Personally, I don’t believe that time heals everything, but it helps. After a while you won’t cry about it all the time and it won’t consume your every thought anymore. You will get better, you will smile, you will laugh, and you will have great days. But it is still there, it never goes away, and you just learn to live with it. You will still cry when you think about it too much or stop you in your tracks when something reminds you of it. So in closing I would like to share this poem with her mother, father, and big brother.

“Feel no guilt in laughter; she knows how much you care. Feel no sorrow in a smile that she is not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever; she would not want you to. She would hope that you would carry on, the way you always do.
So talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared, the days you spent together and the happiness you shared.
Let the memories surround you, or a word someone may say, that will capture a special time, an hour, or a day.
This will bring her back so clearly as though she were still here, and fills your heart with the feeling that she will always be near.”

I remember Angela from several family get togethers. She was always smiling. Specially when her cousins were around playing with her. Both her parents were always near to make sure all was well with her. I am sure she has a high place in Heaven near our Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. May she Rest In Peace.
