Kind Man

My first job working at a law firm was in Mr. Parthum’s department.  I was assigned to help with the typing for a new attorney.  One day when things weren’t going well the attorney picked up a book and flung it against the wall next to my head.  He wasn’t mad at me or anything I had done but lost his temper over a situation.  When Mr. Parthum found out what had happened he came over, asked me what had happened and then went in and talked to the attorney.  He came out and said I no longer had to work for this man and he could do his own typing.  He said we don’t treat people like that.  His kindness has always been remembered.  He stuck up for me and I have never forgotten his kindness.  I have told the story many times and will always remember him for the fine man he was.
