Marjorie “Marge” Kallin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 30 at St. John Hospital.

Marge was born July 28, 1915 in Montreal Canada. The family relocated to Grosse Pointe in the mid 1920s.

She lived a full life in and around the Grosse Pointes where her childhood was filled with music, equestrian activities, as well as raising and showing Sealyham Terriers. Marge was employed as a secretary-accountant at Zenith Corp., Holley, and Kelly Services.

A life dedicated to helping others, Marge exemplified the power that one person can bring to a group with a common cause. She touched the lives of many with her volunteer efforts including: more than 20 years as a volunteer at the Neighborhood Thrift Store; delivering Meals-On-Wheels to local seniors; and fundraising for the Theatre Guild scholarship fund.

Marge was more than a matriarch in her family. She was always available with unconditional love, poise under pressure, endless support.

Marge was an active member of Grosse Pointe Memorial Church. She taught Church School for years. She was a faithful choir member and involved with the Friends of Music program. It was said that Marjorie never missed worship and was bright light within the congregation.
