Pizza at Louie's
When Margi moved to the east side of Detroit she introduced us to many new venues. One of these was Louie's Pizza on Dequindre in Hazel Park. This is probably the original home of the square pizza in the Detroit area, delicious!
Many nights Bob and I would hop into the car, sometimes with kids in tow, and make the trip over to Margi's for pizza along with the chance to spend happy times with her.
If you have ever been there, there are many, many raffia wrapped empty bottles of Chianti hanging all over the inside of the restaurant. Each bottle has messages written on them with a marker.
We went there for the good pizza but always enjoyed looking at all of the bottles.
Last week my husband, sisters and I made a memory trip to Louie's for old times sake. We decided to buy the bottle of chianti and hang a memorial for Margi. We each wrote a message to her.
So if you ever make it over to Louie's look for her there. She is right in the cozy corner booth on the far right hand side.
I know she would enjoy the visit.
I love you Margi.
